Maintenance Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • To increase the productivity and efficiency of the Maintenance & Engineering Organisation by allowing the organisation to complete jobs in the shortest time under safe conditions through planned work, coordination and scheduling jobs, and maintaining records, therefore ensuring effective utilisation of resources.
  • Provide administrative support to capital expenditure program for document management, meeting notes & regular progress reporting and KPI tracking.
  • Provide Safety support to projects to comply with safety regulations
  • Assist the effectiveness of the Maintenance Department through planning work. This is accomplished through the use and application of the fundamentals of a planned maintenance program.
  • Develop the CMMS system to manage the maintenance workload and produce pre agreed KPI reports weekly.
  • Plan work orders for maintenance work to be scheduled, ensuring that all materials and tools are provided for in the plan.
  • Assist team leads and supervisors with development of weekly Scheduling of planned maintenance jobs, ensuring that each job has the correct materials, tools, equipment, and manpower to complete the work in the shortest possible time, while maintaining safe conditions and efficient use of all resources.
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs (including labour and service contracts) covering all equipment.
  • Establish and maintain the equipment record system to control costs and the safety of the operation of the equipment.
  • Carry out thorough preplanning (including parts, delivery and return for the organization) to reduce delays an increase efficiency in scheduled repairs.
  • Responsibility for running of the Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance programs in the facility.
  • Establish and maintain the statutory maintenance program including reporting and record


  • Qualified experienced maintenance professional (or)
  • Qualified experienced safety professional (or)
  • Third level qualification in an engineering or maintenance discipline (or)
  • Time served craftsman with minimum of five years' experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of CMMS
  • Computer literate
  • Planning & Scheduling Training
