Product Manager

  • Locatie: MEDITE SMARTPLY, Dartford, UK

Reporting to the Managing Director – Commercial. This role drives forward the development and roll out of product strategy in order to effectively grow the business in existing and new markets.

It is key in leading company projects, ensuring clear stakeholder communication as well as strong customer engagement.

Through market insight and analysis, this role will endeavour to build plans to develop our technical leadership, support our NPD process and evolve our commercial proposition around our speciality and technical product offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development and management of NPD plan, ensuring projects are tracked and monitored, highlighting if there are any roadblocks
  • Provide market insight to help predict future trends
  • Define product plans and positioning strategies ensuring market relevance and competitive advantage, optimising product line profitability
  • Manage the product throughout its life cycle ensuring optimisation at each stage
  • Build a thorough understanding of regulation and legislation, understanding the implications and influences on the business. Develop commercial arguments and propositions to suit
  • Responsible for identifying technical approvals necessary to ensure access to market sectors and/or to augment commercial propositions
  • Lead technical marketing programmes within the business to support growth of technical and speciality products
  • Integration with the Technical team to design, create and execute internal and external training programmes to educate the sales team, other colleagues and customers
  • Carbon literacy – understand the impact of legislation on products and the business, to support development of market leading positioning
  • Lead key company projects to support product development and innovation, driving business growth
  • Stakeholder management - ensure clear communication of projects, highlighting any roadblocks and helping to work out solutions
  • Customer engagement - create network to understand product applications and market needs

Typical Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience working within a product management environment within construction product industry
  • A logical thinker
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to analyse/manipulate commercial data
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Results Oriented
  • Demonstrable experience in customer facing environments
  • Skills and experience in creative writing content
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral), interpersonal skills required.
  • Robust IT competency in Microsoft Office suite
