WELL describes its objective as “optimizing the places where we live, work and play” in order to “advance human health and wellbeing,” while BREEAM aims to “recognise and reflect the value in higher performing assets across the built environment lifecycle, from new construction to in-use to refurbishment.” The American LEED standard is a widely used “green building rating system,” aiming to provide a “framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings.”
