SMARTPLY PATTRESS PLUS vs a standard pattressing board – what’s the difference?

On a busy construction site, timing is everything. Often, it’s essential that everyone is efficient as possible to ensure the project runs smoothly. Some jobs like installing pattressing boards, however, can be time consuming and tedious.

Most dryliners will spend a lot of time cutting and rebating sheets of plywood and fixing them inside the stud – which needs to be fixed beforehand – then installing the actual panels. This leads to excessive dust, more noise and more power tools on site.

There is a smarter solution! One that will save you time and effort without compromising on health and safety.

SMARTPLY PATTRESS PLUS is an engineered OSB/3 panel incorporating a continuous recess to accommodate ‘C’ shaped metal studs, providing secure anchorage for fixtures and fittings.

As OSB/3, SMARTPLY PATTRESS PLUS is consistent, made to meet a guaranteed pull out strength, with no knots, gaps or voids, and makes a fully certified suitable alternative to plywood.

It arrives pre-cut in two easy-to-handle lengths and two thicknesses, which snuggly fit between studs. It also comes pre-rebated, allowing the stud flange to slot into one side while you hold it in place and screw the other side to the angle on the next stud. This means that dryliners can work independently if and when needed.

And because the bulk of the work has been done for you, there’s a reduction in dust, noisy power tools and number of fixings needed, allowing you to make the most of your time on site.

Added benefits

As it’s manufactured from FSC® certified timber from our own forests, PATTRESS PLUS can help ensure that your project meets its BREEAM, LEED or WELL Standard environmental building standards.

It’s also a healthier product to work with thanks to SMARTPLY’s no added formaldehyde manufacturing process. Not only is it safer for dryliners to use, it also contributes to a healthier environment for future building occupants.

Finally, this versatile, high-performance OSB3 meets the severe duty rating, allowing it to be structurally secure enough to carry severely heavy weight.
