The role will actively participate in the delivery of all mechanical maintenance processes to support safe and cost-effective plant reliability.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide mechanical support to MEDITE Production units
- Provide first line response as required by the mechanical chargehand
- Carryout all Planned Maintenance routines to ensure reliability of equipment
- Carryout all Planned Maintenance jobs as detailed by supervisor
- Assist with Planning of Maintenance jobs to ensure efficient execution of planned maintenance
- Assist with development of maintenance routines
- Report any area of concern to supervisor
- Fill in shift or shutdown logbook as required.
- Identify any improvement initiatives to supervisor
- All stores’ withdrawals must be booked out using a work order
- Active participation in all safety training and toolbox talks.
- Complete all tasks in an efficient and effective manner
- Record all maintenance work on the CMMS system
- In addition to duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by Supervisor / Manager from time to time
Skills, Knowledge & Attitudes:
- Ability to work and contribute to a team environment
- Flexibility to cover emergency situations as required
- Enthusiastic and energetic attitude to planned maintenance work
- Ensure safe working practises at all times
- Competent in fitting skills to a recognised apprenticeship
- Fitting skills to include turning, burning, welding, machining and fitting.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Gain familiarity of all site areas and processes
- Recommend any changes to equipment to supervisor
- Identify all training requirements to allow job to be completed with minimum risk to business
- Good communication skills
Qualification / Training Requirements:
- Completed four year recognised apprenticeship
- Appropriate hydraulic, pneumatic on the job training to be completed
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility at all times to cover any absenteeism
- Flexibility to support other areas of plant
- Flexibility to work overtime to meet company goals / needs
