MEDITE SMARTPLY joins Architecture Today’s School of Specification

MEDITE SMARTPLY is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Architecture Today for the School of Specification.

The School of Specification (SoS) is a new e-learning platform designed to give professionals who work in the UK construction industry the information they need to make informed and intelligent design and specification decisions.

The construction industry is facing a multitude of challenges, from changes to the Building Regulations, to meeting the net zero target and must continuously adapt. However, it can be difficult to find the right information that will help the clients. SoS compiles all the knowledge and expertise on design and specification all in one place.

The aim of SoS is to encourage shared learning and to support the industry in its mission to deliver buildings that are resilient, sustainable, and safe – which help architects and other professionals deliver the best possible results for clients, communities, and the environment.

Holly Waters-Marsh, Head of Marketing, commented: “We have worked with Architecture Today to develop modules for the platform using our specialist knowledge, enabling us to demonstrate to the market our technical support and encourage smarter specification for sustainable solutions.”

The platform collates material from a wide range of experts from across the construction industry including consultants, practitioners, manufacturers and technical specialists, and explains it in a way that’s engaging, clear and easy to use. SoS is particularly concerned about the environment and sustainability, which makes it a great platform for MEDITE SMARTPLY to be involved with.

An on-going programme of learning modules will focus on a particular aspect of specification, with the first module focusing on Low Embodied Carbon, covering Life Cycle Assessments and EPDs.

“This comes at a time when we have set our own sustainability goals,” continues Holly. “As a company we are moving towards carbon neutrality by 2030 – and ultimately – becoming a net zero manufacturing company by 2050.”

Our commitment to sustainability is core to all levels of our business. We’re endeavouring to become recognised as an industry leading net zero manufacturing company by 2050, reducing carbon emissions across our business & supply chains.
