As OHS Risk & Compliance Manager. you will provide guidance and expertise in terms of OHS, risk, regulation and compliance. You will coordinate with all business units to develop, test and refine OHS risk and compliance business processes and practices. You will engage with key stakeholders to innovate and implement processes to deliver best working practices whilst supporting business growth and creating a culture of excellence within the organisation You will lead the development and delivery of Medite Smartply OHS, Risk & Compliance strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Risk and Compliance
- Provide analysis to support the development of robust practices that support Risk & Compliance strategy.
- Manage the Governance of the operational external audit program
- Co-ordinate all external audit findings to ensure that they are closed out as per the corrective actions system
- Manage the governance of the internal audit program, ensuring alignment with company risk and standard requirements and compliance obligations.
- Develop a corrective action system complaint to ISO Standard requirements
- Develop an operations legal register detailing compliance requirements of legal obligations.
- Support the risk champion process with Coillte and finance
- Support internal compliance mitigation process, ensuring the quarterly risk register updates are completed by risk owners.
- Support Business continuity planning process
- Co-ordinate the bi-annual Assurance Mapping process with the Coillte Group.
Integrated Management System
- Manage, co-ordinate and communicate all aspects of the company’s Integrated Management System.
- Lead internal IMS audits and ready the business for external audit.
- Ensure ISO compliance with current and future standards.
- Measure and report on the performance of the IMS and make recommendations for improvements.
- Support the integration of Sustainability regulation into the IMS.
- Manage all common elements of the IMS Standard across all three sites
- Work with IMS contributors to ensure continuous alignment of the standards.
Documentation control
- Ensure product documentation is live and up to date to ensure the company Maintains external accreditations.
- Drive for simplicity in system use and selection.
- Lead the ongoing development work for Standard Work documentation across the business
Change management:
- Develop a robust change amendment process within the business to be utilised for significant changes across functional business units. All change that impacts more than one business function will go through this process to ensure the smooth transition of process changes. (AFE)
OHS Management:
- Lead and develop the OHS team across both sites.
- Develop an OHS safety strategy to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and planning.
- Responsibility include:
- Management of ISO standards
- Development of a positive safety culture via behavioral based safety practices
- Develop risk management program and support business continuity planning
- Statutory training requirements across the business
- Safety induction programs
- Develop annual health and safety communications and campaigns
- High risk work and ATEX controls across the sites
- Emergency planning
- Support project and maintenance Shutdowns to ensure compliance in relation to the safety file, RAMS, Training records and subcontractor management
- Support the accident and investigation process to ensure that root cause can be implemented, and robust corrective actions are completed
- Support the tender process in relation to all elements of OHS and safety
- Manage the safety objectives management program
- Coordinate all safety/compliance reporting both internally and externally

- Mentor and develop OHS teams
- Support the integration & automation of the operations reporting systems.
- Promote best practice in Risk & Compliance.

Desired Technical/Professional Competencies
- Education and Experience: a third level qualification preferably in a business or risk and compliance related discipline. Experience in ISO auditing an advantage.

- Commercial/ Regulatory Acumen: Commercial awareness and strong understanding of the changing regulatory landscape.
- Communication: Excellent communication and inter-personal skills that engender trust.
- Other: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
