MEDITE PREMIER; 50 Years of Proven Performance

With new materials, technologies, and design trends constantly reshaping the furniture, joinery and interior fit out industries, proven performance is key. This changing landscape means professionals need materials that they can trust.

For fifty years, MEDITE MDF has helped manufacturers, professional woodworkers, and specifiers achieve premium results on their projects. Since MEDITE was first imported into Europe in 1976, the range has continued to evolve, but its reputation has been built on consistent principles; high-quality wood-based panels that machine smoothly, finish consistently and yield high quality results with every use.

At the heart of this range is MEDITE PREMIER, a versatile, multi-purpose panel developed for a wide range of interior applications.

Consistency where it counts

When working at scale, even small variations in panel thickness, density, or surface quality can disrupt production. Inconsistent material can affect cutting accuracy, finishing results and the repeatability of components, leading to additional processing, wasted material and lost time.

MEDITE PREMIER is manufactured using advanced wood refining technology and specially designed resins to provide consistent quality and thickness with every panel. It is this uniform structure that supports precise cutting, routing and profiling, whilst also reducing tool wear which can help maintain machining quality in demanding workshop environments.

This consistency has tangible value for long-term users, with many companies citing MEDITE PREMIER as their material of choice.  For example, Richard Baker Furniture regularly turns to the panel for its bespoke work, describing it as “the perfect material for our well-designed pieces,”[1] whilst Signbox has used it across numerous signage and interior projects, such as feature walls, stating “We use this panel regularly for various interior design projects, and it has never let us down.”[2] Unbranded also deliberately chooses MEDITE PREMIER for the majority of its projects, based on its own research and practical experience.[3] This confidence is echoed by De Bolder Texel, which has used MEDITE MDF for more than 30 years and reports that “MEDITE always comes out as the best in our research and tests.”[4]

A strong foundation for high-quality finishes

The final appearance of furniture, cabinetry or decorative joinery depends heavily on the material used to create it. Even the highest quality paint, veneer, or laminate cannot fully hide an uneven or inconsistent surface.

MEDITE PREMIER is supplied pre-sanded and has excellent face properties, providing a smooth base for painting, veneering, laminating and the application of surface coatings. It is therefore suitable for even very thin laminates and foils, where imperfections in the substrate are particularly likely to show through.

This finishing performance makes the panel suitable for a wide range of applications, including fitted furniture, shelving, cabinetry, wall panelling, shopfitting, doors and decorative interior features.

Versatility without compromise

Different industry professionals have different demands for a material; a furniture manufacturer may require repeatable components across a large production run, whilst a bespoke joiner may need to create detailed profiles, or decorative features.

Available in an extensive range of panel dimensions and thicknesses, MEDITE PREMIER provides this flexibility, allowing users to select the appropriate format for the job. This ensures that specification is not only about choosing a high-performance material, but also about selecting the right performance characteristics for the intended use.

Performance supported by responsible manufacturing

MEDITE PREMIER is manufactured in accordance with the relevant requirements of EN 13986 and EN 622-5. It is also EU REACH and CARB Phase 2 compliant. It is also manufactured using FSC® certified timber and other controlled sources, and FSC® Chain of Custody certification provides assurance that certified forest-based material is identified and tracked through the supply chain. MEDITE’s manufacturing facility, based in Clonmel, also operates certified management systems covering quality, environmental management, health and safety, and energy management to ensure premium quality is repeatedly achieved.

Trusted for 50 years, built for what’s next

MEDITE PREMIER’s strength lies not in one single characteristic, but in the combination of consistent manufacture, reliable machining, and high-quality finishing performance. These qualities give professionals the confidence to work efficiently, explore more ambitious designs, and deliver premium results to their own customers again and again.

After 50 years of MEDITE MDF manufacturing expertise, MEDITE PREMIER continues to provide something increasingly valuable; a proven and trusted foundation for the next generation of furniture, joinery and interior design projects.
