A Seamless 5.1m-Wide Media Wall Created with MEDITE MR

Martin was approached by a client to design and build an impressive 5.1m-wide bespoke media wall for the living room of a West Sussex-based property. 

The media wall was required to combine display space, storage, and entertainment technology within one cohesive installation, with the finished piece providing a focal point in the room with a seamless, high-quality painted finish.

The Challenge

Spanning almost the entire width of the room, the scale and complexity of the piece demanded a consistent, highly durable material that could be machined precisely and accept a flawless, ultra-smooth spray finish. 

Full cable management needed to be incorporated discreetly, keeping wires and connections concealed whilst remaining practical and accessible. 

As a permanent feature within a UK home, the media wall also needed to maintain its appearance and stability despite seasonal changes in temperature and humidity. 

Achieving the desired premium look, whilst also delivering the practicality and longevity required, was therefore essential on this project.

The Solution

Martin selected MEDITE MR for its consistency, durability and moisture-resistant properties. Its smooth, uniform surface provided an excellent base for the spray finish, while its clean and predictable machining supported the precise construction and detailing required across the 5.1m-wide installation.

The material’s consistency also helped reduce preparation time and sanding before finishing, whilst its moisture resistance offered additional protection against the swelling and movement that changing humidity can cause. 

The result is a durable and practical media wall with discreet cable management and a smooth, seamless appearance which will perform reliably for years to come.
